Drown This City has been announced to perform at UNIFY 2019

Victoria’s UNIFY Gathering heavy music festival has finally stopped the drip-feed and unveiled its 2019 lineup in all its glory.

Next year’s edition of UNIFY will be headlined by Underoath, Karnivool and Taking Back Sunday, who’ll be performing their 2002 album Tell All Your Friends in full.

The 29-act lineup also features two reunions: Aussie metalcore outfit I Killed The Prom Queen, who’ll be reuniting their classic When Goodbye Means Forever… lineup; and Sydney hardcore outfit Hand Of Mercy, who will reunite exclusively for the festival.

Six international acts are locked in to perform exclusively at UNIFY next year: Underoath, While She Sleeps, Crossfaith, The Plot In You, Dream State and State Champs.

Of the Aussies, there’s also Trophy Eyes (the first act to be confirmed for the festival), In Hearts Wake, Ocean Grove, WAAX, Clowns, Pagan, Yours Truly, our own Drown This City and more.

View the festival’s full 2019 lineup and all the ticketing details, below.

Next year’s UNIFY event — the fifth instalment of the festival — will take place in a new location, five kilometres from its original home at Tarwin Lower in South Gippsland, between Friday, 11th and Sunday, 13th January.

Organisers are also giving punters the option of arriving a day early this year, which means they can set up camp on Thursday, 10th January.

It comes after Captives packed out all the dates on their album tour, and tickets will be at the door only so you’d best get down there early if you don’t wanna be, ahem, LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN.

CIRCLES // Release New Single & Announce Upcoming Album

Circles_The Last One_Front_600x600.jpg

Aussie prog rock powerhouse Circles have released another taste of their new album; which we now know is called The Last One and is set to be released on August 31st.

Breaker is the second song to be released from the new album. Fans got their first taste of what is to come with the release of Blueprints Of A Great Escape earlier in the year.

The latest track is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Circles; emotional lyrics paired with sheer force and precision. They’re not afraid to take a few liberties either. People worldwide are taking notice too; with the band signing to infamous French label Season Of Mist for a European and American release. Back home, the band signed to new heavy label Wild Thing Records earlier in the year.

Guitarist Ted Furuhashi said that a lot of The Last One was born out of the band pushing their own sonic ideals. “The Last One is definitely an album that we’re all proud of. For me personally, it’s the record I’ve always wanted to write” said Furuhashi.

Drown This City released new music and tour dates!!

Yesterday 19.4.18, the band opted to turn to Triple J’s unearthed website and social media accounts for an early release of the track, and managed to rack up an impressive 5,000 views for it overnight.

The clip sees the Melbourne based group tap into their dark and brooding side, and features front woman Alex Reade partaking in a paganistic ritual, complete with snakes and dark lord worship.

Following the release of the new single, the four piece have also announced they will be taking Third Law on tour, tearing through both Melbourne and Sydney on an exclusive string of shows. The select few dates will run through early June, and will see the band hit up both the Workers Club and the Chippendale Hotel for an 18+ affair.

Captives debut album release day!!!

purchase ‘Over The Rainbow’ >> https://inertiamusic.lnk.to/CaptivesOTR

Following on from the recent release of the rawkus new video clip for latest single House Parties & Black Balloons, Tassie punkers Captives are about to release their debut album Over The Rainbow.

Once again working with producer Tom Larkin and mixer Samuel K Sproull, Over The Rainbow is a typically hard-and-fast affair for the five-piece, who’ve spent the past couple of years making a name for themselves with live shows as uncompromising as their sound.

Declan Byrne Triple J – ‘A let loose, sweaty, spitty rock n roll home run’

Dave Ruby Howe Triple J Unearthed – ‘Listen to those guitars crank! This is a corker. I reckon that chorus could be mistaken for the villain from TMNT (cos it’s a shredder)’

Overdrive Magazine – ‘Over The Rainbow’ is a fantastic album for Captives to debut with, and if this album is an indication of what is to come in the future we can definitely expect great things from the five boys from Tassie.

Captives release a second single and announce album tour dates!!

Captives‘ new album will take you “Over The Rainbow”!
